25 - 35cm Begonia Maculata "Polka Dot" 13cm Pot Houseplant

The Begonia Maculata (Polka Dot Begonia) is bold, artistic, and utterly eye-catching. Its long, angel-wing-shaped leaves are a deep olive green, adorned with striking silvery-white polka dots on top and a rich reddish-purple underside, giving it a glamorous, high-contrast look. It grows upright with a cane-like structure and produces clusters of delicate white or pale pink flowers in the right conditions.

The Begonia Maculata is like living art in a pot. It’s perfect for those who want a plant with flair, personality, and just a touch of attitude—while still being an easy plant to care for.

Care Requirements:

• Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves, but don’t place it in low light.

• Water: Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Begonia Maculata prefers slightly moist soil but is sensitive to overwatering. Always allow excess water to drain.

• Humidity: Loves humidity and often produces delicate flowers in humid conditions.

• Temperature: Best in warm conditions between 16–24°C. Protect it from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

• Soil: Use a light, well-draining mix—such as a blend of potting soil, perlite, and a bit of coco coir or peat moss to retain gentle moisture.

• Feeding: Fertilize every 4–6 weeks during the growing season with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer to support healthy foliage and blooming.

• Pruning: Pinch or trim leggy stems to encourage bushier growth. Remove any yellow or crispy leaves to keep it looking fresh.

Pet-Friendly: No – Like many begonias, the Maculata is toxic if ingested by pets or humans.
