Description

Delicate, dreamy, and effortlessly romantic, the String of Hearts ‘Silver’ (Ceropegia woodii) is known for its cascading vines and heart-shaped leaves. What sets the ‘Silver’ variety apart is its stunning foliage—soft, muted green to grey-green leaves heavily dusted with silvery speckles and backed by a hint of purple.

Its trailing vines can grow several feet long, making it perfect for hanging planters, shelf edges, or even wrapped around trellises. Despite its dainty look, this semi-succulent is surprisingly easy going and thrives on a simple care routine—making it ideal for both beginners and experienced collectors who love trailing plants with personality.

Care Requirements:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to keep its silvery pattern vibrant. It can tolerate some gentle direct morning sun, but too much intense sun may fade the foliage.

  • Water: Water when the soil is completely dry. Like many succulents, it stores water in its tuberous roots and dislikes soggy soil.

  • Humidity: Average indoor humidity is just fine. While it can tolerate dry air, added humidity may encourage fuller growth.

  • Temperature: Thrives in temperatures between 16–29°C.

  • Soil: Use a fast-draining succulent or cactus mix. You can also add extra perlite or pumice for improved drainage.

  • Feeding: Feed once a month during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted succulent or houseplant fertilizer. Avoid overfeeding.

  • Pruning: Trim vines to maintain shape or encourage bushier growth. Cuttings can be easily propagated in water or soil.

Pet-Friendly: Yes – String of Hearts is safe for our furry friends.
